Meet Yara Elmjouie

Yara Elmjouie is an award-winning video producer, journalist and host. When he joined AJ+ in 2016, he started off producing both bite-sized news videos and elaborately meal-prepped lunches whose fumes would overtake the office once microwaved. So in 2018, he married his passion for food and journalism to launch what would eventually become “Eat This with Yara,” a short documentary show that looks at the intersection of food and society – sometimes with a comedic twist. The show has received awards from the national Daytime Emmys, the James Beard Foundation, the Webby Awards, the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) and more.
